My New Years Resolutions

That’s it 2017 is almost over, and we are about to welcome a brand new year!! A year that should be very different than what it is going to be.. 30th January 2018 was my due date. And whilst I will no longer get to welcome my Betsy into the new year, I thought I would still make some resolutions and keep myself focused next year.

So here we go-

1. Less phone time

This is important for a lot of people I think, phones play a massive part in lives and I’ll be the first to admit I’m probably on my phone too much! So I vouch to put my phone down a lot more, even leave it at home when I go out.. and spend more time with my children, family, and friends, the things that matter in life. After all the most important thing in the world to me is watching my children grow up into the intelligent little people they are, and helping them along the way. Which don’t get me wrong I do, but I could probably do it much better without my phone in my hand. So yes phone I will be fucking putting you down!

Stop trying so hard

Now this isn’t everyone in general, but I know I try to hard and sometimes it doesn’t get me anywhere. Not everybody is going to like me or want to talk to me and with those people, I just need to accept that and bloody walk away!

Start saving and stop wasting money

This year I probably have been a bit silly with spending. I mean is it normal to have a large wardrobe, two huge boxes under it, and two chest of draws full of clothes.. not to mention my shoes are catching up!! Yes I definitely think next year is all about saving, I would love to take my children on a magical holiday after all.

Have a clear out

Part with the clothes I don’t wear, the shoes, any thing that’s just being stored in our big cupboard and will probably never be used again! Just get rid of the fucking crap.

Drink more water

I say this all the time, but this year I definitely want to drink lots of water. I know how much more healthy you feel if you drink water daily, sadly I don’t think drinking Pepsi everyday is that good for you.

Healthy Eating

So I’ve always started my years healthily anyway (and it will still be something I always want to do), last year (2016) I managed to loose 3 stone. This year things have happened and I’ve let myself go, and I have gained about two stone. I know I’m not happy about it so I’m not going to sit here and whinge, I’m going to do something about it!

Stop worrying/caring what others think

Something that effects me massively is worrying about what other people think, I have to keep telling myself people don’t really give a fuck what I do or how I look! What I do in my life does not effect anyone else’s life.

Be happy

2017 has been the worst year for my family! I sunk back into depression and anxiety, and whilst I am keeping on top of it now I need to make sure it stays that way. I’m not going to be welcoming Betsy into the world in the new year, but I can’t spend the next year thinking about it everyday as much as it breaks my heart. Instead I need to make next year a good one, and make my baby proud. Being happy is all my family and friends want me to be.

Budget Budget Budget

This applies a lot to food shopping, meal planning is key to saving money! Freezing leftovers, making extras to freeze, another tip I heard was to blend left over veg with tomato passatta and freeze it for a pasta sauce. I definitely want to cut my family’s food shopping bill right down, and then the spare money can go towards a holiday or something nice for the kids. Always the kids lol.

Adventure more and make it a year for my kids to remember

Whilst I do enjoy going to lots of places I know and taking the kids out, I’d love to visit different places with them this year. Annabelle is at school now so it will definitely involve doing it a lot in the holidays, but I just want Annabelle and William to have such a special year. This year has got to be one they can look back on and think, it was the best year and we had so much fun!

Do something for me

This one speaks for itself really… whether it be a day, a couple of hours or an evening I want to do something for me! Whether it’s a little pamper session, a spa day, getting my nails or hair done alone, shopping with a friend, me time is very important if I want to keep my sanity. (And I’d like to do something for me child free!)

Live my life how I want too

It’s not about what everybody else is doing or what they have, it’s my life and I don’t mind living it differently! I wasn’t born to be the same as anyone else, life is what I make it!

Keep at blogging

Blogging has become my new found love and sanity, I can’t express how much I enjoy blogging! Rather than giving up like I do with a lot of things, I’m going to make sure I try so hard and damn stick at this!

There are probably a few other things I could add to my New Years Resolutions but for me these are the main ones (the ones I want to do the most), only I can make this year good for me and my family- And I will try my absolute best to stick to every single one of these resolutions!
